WHAT DOES 'JESUS LOVES YOU' MEAN?

WHO IS JESUS?

Jesus is not just a teacher, a moral example, or a historical figure. He is God who stepped into humanity. He is the eternal Word, the logos (John 1:1) who took on flesh and lived among us, He is fully God, fully human.

If Jesus is not truly God, He cannot save, and if He is not truly human, He cannot represent us.

Jesus is God with us, Emmanuel. That’s where everything starts.

WHAT IS LOVE?

Our culture often defines love as: emotion, attraction, affirmation & chemistry. But biblical love is much deeper than feelings.

C.S. Lewis wrote that love is not merely affectionate feeling, but a deep unity maintained by the will and strengthened by grace.

Real love is not proven when things are easy. Love is revealed through: sacrifice, patience, commitment, truth, endurance.

1 Corinthians 13:4–7

HOW DOES JESUS LOVE US?

Jesus loves us by: Entering into our broken world, bearing our sin on the cross, forgiving sinners, calling us His own & promising us the gift of eternal life through Him

The cross is the clearest picture of God’s love.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

OUR RESPONSE TO HIS LOVE

What the Son of God, Jesus did, calls for a response.

Not just knowing about Him but trusting Him, following Him, Loving others, repenting,

and loving Him in return.

“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
